Head of Talent Retention & Rewards, Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company
Alvin Teoh currently serves as the Head of Talent Retention & Rewards at Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company. He aims to develop the next generation workforce through helping companies craft out short- and long-term learning programmes that are suited to their specific needs. Previously, he was part of Leaderonomics as a learning and growth partner. His responsibilities included consultation with clients to have deep diagnoses of needs, developing learning solutions and coordinating the execution of these programmes. Alvin has serviced many organizations, ranging from SMEs to large MNCs and GLCs such as Axiata, Sime Darby, Petrosains, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Malaysia Airlines Group, Alliance Bank, etc.
Prior to joining the Leaderonomics Learning team, Alvin held 2 portfolios within the organization. He first served as a Senior Analyst in the Leaderonomics Campus team, where his main task there was to develop students and fresh graduates in the areas of soft-skills and business skills in order to prepare them for the workplace. He worked closely with universities, student bodies, as well as corporate organizations who shares the same vision of building up future leaders. He was involved in multiple projects including leadership boot-camps, conferences, and classroom-based activities where he not only led, but also designed and delivered the training modules. He then went on to serve as a Research Lead in the Leaderonomics Assessment team, where he helped companies understand their people assets both in competency and character through talent assessment processes. His responsibilities include formulating and implementing end-to-end talent assessment processes, facilitation of assessment and development centers, research new developments in the talent assessment field, as well as facilitating and/or conducting training and development post-assessment.
He holds an International Saville WAVE Assessment Accreditation, and is a Motivation Factor Certified Practitioner. He is also a licensed and registered counselor in Malaysia.
Alvin received his Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) as well as his Masters in Counseling from HELP University. Prior to Leaderonomics, Alvin served as a teacher in Sri KDU Primary School, then a lecturer at HELP University. His extended contact time with students across different age groups provided him with valuable insights into their unique thinking processes, values and culture.
