Sheila has an Honours degree in Mathematics & Chemistry as well as a Diploma in Education. She is an HRDF certified trainer, Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming and Coach certified by the American Board of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
She has experience in the fields of sales, training, and communications. At different times, Sheila has been a teacher, sales professional, journalist as well as training & communications consultant during the course of her 30-year career. She began working life as a Mathematics teacher before moving into the field of real estate sales with the Reapfield Group of Companies. She was subsequently offered the position of Recruitment and Training Manager where she developed the recruitment and sales training programmes for real estate negotiators.
Sheila’s love for writing led her into the field of journalism where she has written for The Sun, The New Straits Times and The Edge over a 10-year period. At the same time, she has honed her communication skills, garnered knowledge on various industries and interviewed a number of well-known personalities, including former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad.
She left the media to join the training arm of Scicom (MSC) Bhd; a prominent Malaysian public-listed business process outsourcing company as a Senior Consultant, where she developed a gamut of corporate training programmes incorporating NLP principles. She moved from Scicom to international professional development consultancy VIA Group, where she designed and conducted professional development programmes on leadership, coaching, communication, change management, motivation, media relations, team building and a host of other areas related to the corporate sector.
Sheila is much sought after for her training and presentation skills. She has been featured on talk shows such as Astro and BFM89.9, where she has a monthly series called Tools for Transformation. She has also acted as moderator and a speaker for events; they include a panel discussion and workshop organised by Finance Accreditation Agency, which was attended by some of Malaysia’s top bankers and academics.
