Mark Smalley is the Founder & CEO of R1 DOT MY, a technology solutions provider incorporated in Malaysia in 2012 till present, from where it has been consulting with several organizations and start-ups to help implement and adopt new technologies such as NoSQL storage and distributed ledgers. Mark is also volunteering at Blockchain Embassy Asia, a registered non-profit society approved by the Malaysian government.
Neuroware is the brand name for R1 DOT MY’s blockchain and distributed ledger technology solutions. It was first established when the company was selected to join Batch 9 of the illustrious 500 Start-ups accelerator program in Silicon Valley at the beginning of 2014. It was during time there in the USA that Venturebeat declared Neuroware as one of the 5 most promising start-ups to watch from the Batch 9 demo day pitches that took place at Microsoft.
In 2001 to 2006, he was the creative director of Pixel Media where he serviced the oil and gas companies around Sarawak, develop websites and web-based database, CRM and ERP systems. He had experience as a Research & Development Manager and Creative Director in MI-Limites Sdn. Bhd. where he helped brands to engage new audiences with new social orientated media. After that, he was the CTO in Perfectsen, which is one of the few companies in Malaysia using mongoDB in such critical production environments.
