Dr Brian KM Wong is a change agent and a consultant who specialises in Marketing, Strategy, and Management. He is a strong believer in holistic change management and downstream business approach with the right thought process in cultivating sustainable business entities.
His corporate experiences span from the Home Furnishing industry to the Electrical and Electronic, Education, Healthcare, Tourism, and Industrial Goods. He held several senior management positions in multi-national companies (MNCs) before joining the Putra Busines School (PBS) as a Marketing Director. He was the Head of Infrastructure (Marketing) at Lafarge Malaysia Berhad, Head of Research and Informatics at Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council, Regional Business Consultant at Electrical Paradise (Singapore), and Overseas Sales and Marketing Manager at Panasonic. His international working experiences include North America, Japan, Oceania, South East Asia, and the Indian Sub-Continents. His excellence work achievements earned him the Panasonic President Award in two consecutive years from 2008-2009.
Dr Brian started his academic passion since 2007 when he was invited to be an MBA lecturer in the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia due to his vast working experiences and distinct academic achievement. He was awarded the Best MBA Student award during his tenure with the UM. His teaching experiences also include Sunway-TES, Taylor’s University, and Open University of Malaysia (OUM). With his passion in knowledge sharing coupled with his multi-industries exposures (both locally and internationally), Dr Brian possesses strategic and analytical thoughts, and a passion in solving challenging situations. He believes that time is an essence for business, thus urgency and speed of responsiveness are his priorities in achieving work objectives in the shortest time possible.
Dr Brian holds a Phd in Management and a double major MBA (Marketing and Hospitality & Tourism Management) from the University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. As a Bright Sparks scholar, he has published about 26 manuscripts in top tier journals (ISI and SCOPUS indexed), book chapters (ISI indexed), and international conferences (ISI indexed) during his 4 years PhD tenure. His main research areas are in marketing, strategy, management, travel & tourism, change management, and international retirement migration. He is also a reviewer for top tier journals, a speaker, and a corporate trainer in these areas.
