Daniel Lee

Speaker

Born with brittle bone disease, Daniel has broken his bones numerous times throughout his whole life. However, this doesn’t stop him from living to the fullest. Sports seemed impossible with Daniel’s condition but against all odds, he is currently training to be the first Malaysian wheelchair racer to compete in the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in France. Daniel is a former National Youth Volleyball player who represented Malaysia in the 2013 Asian Youth Para Games. Daniel was the Athlete Representative of the Games and recited the Athlete’s Oath that started the Games off. Daniel (alongside Alex Au-Yong & Kyle Tan) completed 100km in 17 hours to raise over RM 169,000 for the Dignity For Children Foundation in the Xtramile Run event. He has represented Malaysia in a sports leadership programme organised by the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace(UNOSDP). Appointed as one of the speakers for the EPICS Forum, attended by leaders from around the world. Daniel advocates for the inclusion of People with Disabilities (PWDs) in the society. Through the medium of sports, he empowers PWDs to pursue their potential, educates the general public about the potential of PWDs, and highlights the importance of being an inclusive society.

With over 10 years of youth leadership development experience, Daniel works with youths to develop tier leadership skills, values and inspiring them to search for meaning and purpose in life. Daniel has spoken in two TEDx events: TEDxTARUC and TEDxMCKL. He believes sharing experiences that come from the heart is more important than being an eloquent speaker.
